Bellingham

I have been experimenting with Fuji X film simulations, this one by Kevin MullinsPadilla – Grainy Film Base (Monochrome) was inspired by the work of Darcy Padilla, known for her intimate and emotionally charged photojournalism. Intended for portraiture and candids, it also works well in the street:

Oh, very good, Robin- most atmospheric!

Thanks Sue, atmospheric and very damp – the weather in the northeast has been awful these last ten days, with no sign of improvement anytime soon. Hope it’s better in your neck of the woods.

We have had it rather better, certainly

I’ve walked that High Street and drank in the Rose and Crown, though not recently. Friends have a caravan near Hareshaw Lin, Robin.

Hi Jo – you are one up on me – 30 years in Northumberland and I have never been in the Rose & Crown. I was considering a walk to Hareshaw Linn but decided the weather and the path would be too damp. Trust all is well with you and yours.

Better than they were, Robin. I have 6 stitches in my head after a crash landing on our staircase 🩵😗

Sorry to hear that, Jo – hope it heals soon!

These are wonderful images with a certain air of timelessness (apart from the current makes & models of the vehicles, of course). I really like the mood you’ve captured.

Many thanks for your generous words – in forty years, those cars will look more interesting than they do now 😉

I love black and white for atmosphere. Portraits and landscapes can be so much better as a result. Great pictures!

Many thanks, very kind – I usually shoot in RAW and endless faff about to convert to mono. These jpegs came, more or less, straight from the camera.
