… at Weatherhill, north of Stanhope. I am guessing they were at Weatherhill, presumably erected as a snow barrier – they will have probably originated from the Stanhope & Tyne Railway which was sited a few yards to the right. A nearby winding engine hauled limestone wagons up the steep incline from Stanhope. You get some idea of the incline in the extra.

In the extra, the GS got filthy in the process, but it was worth it.
