A Sunday smile …

These images were taken this morning, just twenty minutes apart.  Mist rises from the very damp Tyne Valley and rolls across the fields opposite our home.  A constantly changing scene, it is changing still.  Enough to raise a Sunday smile …

First snow ... First snow ... First snow ...

All I want is the best for our lives my dear
And you know my wishes are sincere
What’s to say, all the days I cannot bear

A Sunday smile, we wore it for a while
And at cemetery mile we paused and sang
A Sunday smile, we wore it for a while
And at cemetery mile we paused and sang
About a Sunday smile, and we felt clean

We burnt to the ground, left a view to admire
Buildings aside, church of white
We burnt to the ground, left a grave to admire
Hills reach for the sky, reach the church of white

This is just the sort of track Adam Curtis would use to great effect – maybe he has.

Many thanks Julie – the post was just an excuse to play the Beirut video. I was reminded of it watching an average French film last night, Grand Central. It features towards the end. You might appreciate these 🙂

Not entirely a bad place to live 😉 The last of the three is magical! The field almost looks like the sea in that light.

Many thanks Hanne – we are very lucky living where we do (these were taken just outside the front door, in my dressing gown 😀 )

That just made me smile with a sound, love it! And you certainly seem to appreciate it which matters much. Stunning view for sure.

It must be lovely living so close to beauty like this.

We are very lucky and we never take it for granted.

I wondered where you got it from, Robin. 🙂 Quirky 🙂
For me your second shot is the star. Merry Christmas to you! Will you be at home?

😀 Thanks Jo – we will be at home, not eating out as planned. I have just put up a new post explaining the sad story – we were heading for the Boatside Inn at Warden – very unfortuanately it was flooded out in the recent storms and will not open again until the New Year. Consequently chef (me) will be busy 😦 Hope your plans work out better. All the best R

Stunningly beautiful images, Robin. And a wonderful song (and vid).
