Homeward bound …

I have been driving for an eternity. A two week car journey around Lapland was immediately followed by a 700 mile round trip to Traigh Golf Course near Arisaig.  The greater the effort the greater the rewards and both adventures were very rewarding even if I left my golf game at home for the latter. I have limited this post to just two images – the first from our last full day at Abisko in Sweden and the second from a late evening drive between Traigh and Acharacle (the view to the small isles from Glenuig).  Hopefully both explain why the effort was worth it:

What is this life if ...

    Yes, they certainly do!

Many thanks Pit and thanks for all the likes and RTs on Twitter. I don’t feel I reciprocate sufficiently with other bloggers output but just can’t seem to keep up at the moment, mostly because I have been on the move for so long.

I know how difficult it is to keep up with other bloggers: ever so time-consuming. So, don’t worry. Enjoy your life-style.

    Just glorious, Robin.

Many thanks Tish – the two images are an accurate reflection of the difference in weather conditions between the UK and northern Scandinavia – how come they get better summer weather in the Arctic Circle.

That is a very interesting question, Robin.

    Wonderful!

Many thanks Sue – given the difference in latitude between the two shots, they look the wrong way round.

Thanks Janet – I am tempted to go back to Scotland again in the Autumn – so much easier to get to than Lapland and by then it may have stopped raining 🙂

These, along with your other recent photos, definitely prove that all of those miles were worth it. What a summer you’ve had.

Thanks Julie, there is a definite sense of ‘what next?’ – it will probably be another trip to Scotland before the year is out.

Being a contentious soul sometimes, Robin (oh, alright- mostly!) I don’t think you needed to cover that much terrain to get wonderful images. But wonderful they absolutely are! And you enjoyed making all that effort, didn’t you? Feet up now, for a while 🙂
