Summer to Autumn

In parallel with this blog I have another compulsive disorder called Blip.  This is a mini-blogging site designed to encourage a post/photo per day.  My written input is very limited, I struggle with a picture per day and sometimes I cheat with duplicates of images on WordPress but, by and large it does provide an interesting (for me 🙂 ) picture diary of our year. Without any forethought it seems I have captured the season as it drifts from summer to autumn, all from one particular viewpoint over Hexham.  It is a few hundred yards from our home and looks over the Tyne Valley towards the Shire. The steam emanates from the Egger chimney – as it says on one of the Blip posts, you don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows:

Great series 🙂 I did 365 photos on this blog last year and it was a massive challenge for me! So proud to have done it but I don’t think I could manage two blogs on the go at once.

Thanks Sarah – sorry for the slow response, for some peculiar reason you ended up in spam. I started in December but then had a few days break whilst unwell 😦 It’s hard work isn’t it, coming up with something new everyday (hence my cheats 🙂 )

That’s happened to me a number of times Robin! So annoying. I now regularly check my spam folder just in case. It really is a lot of work! It pretty much took over my life last year 😉 One of the real challenges for me was that I’m ill 365 so even on my worst days I still forced myself to do something and I started to realise that actually it was helping me deal with some of the day to day stresses. Here’s a post I managed to do the day after emergency surgery! http://miradordesign.wordpress.com/2013/04/01/coming-home/

Well done Sarah! Two precious boys.
I am even slower to respond at the moment – we are on the Montgomery Canal at the moment where any Internet connectivity is pretty scarce.

What a great idea, to have your pictorial record of the year…..

I think Blip is quite neat and nicely constructed. It is great getting feedback and comments on WordPress but I have turned it off on Blip – I would never be off the keyboard otherwise 🙂

This is a brilliant series of photos. The turning of the seasons intrigues me.
Love the blip idea but time, time, time.

Ah, the subtly changing hues of autumn. 🙂 Using images from WP on another site isn’t really cheating, at least not in my book.

The main idea behind Blip is that the photos are from the day you post them – they even pick up on the metadata. Some of mine date from the 1914-18 😀

    Enjoy the weekend, Robin. 🙂

My favourite too, there is no mistaking that the year is on the turn with that east wind. Have a great weekend too Malin. ❤

Beautiful images, Robin — I love seeing the same perspective at different times/in different weather patterns/with different color manipulations.

Rural England! You capture it beautifully, Robin. Happy Travels! 🙂
I think you’ve mentioned Blip before. I’ll go take a look.

Many thanks Jo – now on the boat with a reasonable wifi connection at least until we ‘set sail’ tomorrow. TTFN

Love this shot…..that delicious soft light of Autumn.
I’m intrigued by blip….but it sounds like hard work. I’m off to take a peek at yours……enjoy your trip 🙂

Many thanks – recommend Blip if you have some spare time 🙂 I think it is Edinburgh based.
