I have resisted the temptation to expose the boys again, they were less than impressed the first time they appeared. Instead, I found this alternative family of small monsters, not so much cherub-like as impish and the closer you look, the more of them there are:

There is an alternative grungy version on Blipfoto.
Nice shot, as usual, Robin. Cherubs often fill me with dread.
Quite right Julie – you must have met mine 🙂
this is quite amazing…somehow I find it a bit disturbing. I can only imagine the work that went into this. Thank you for the fine post.
Many thanks for the generous comment, much appreciated. I agree, it is a little disturbing – I should find out who the lady is and what this represents.
They’re beautiful, Robin. Where did you find them? 🙂
Thanks Jo, they are the detail from a terracotta garden wall plaque – never noticed the detail until I was in Photoshop.
This reminds me of when I collected bookmarks (when I was a kid)… I had a lot of bookmarks with cherubs on. I could sit and watch them for hours. 🙂
Nice images Robin!
Thanks Malin – I would guess you would have enjoyed the Arthur Rackham drawings – http://rackham.artpassions.net/
Beautiful art!
Interesting images Robin, but cerubs are not my favourite thing!
Thanks Sue – I hate cerubs especially 🙂
That’s one nice interpretation 🙂
Many thanks, I confess I struggled with this theme.
Wow, a really large family of cherubs!
Makes you wonder what the collective noun might be 🙂
A fun take on the theme 🙂
Thanks, I was struggling with this one.
