This is the view south east across the fields next to our home. On a good morning it is a scene that is constantly changing – even as the sun rises, mist can drift up from the Tyne Valley and completely blanket the field in a matter of seconds. If you click on the image and look closely at the enlarged version you will notice what looks like a scratch in the centre, just above the tree line. This is the vapour trail of a jet coming up over the horizon probably from Frankfurt and heading for the US. The route of these planes varies with weather conditions in the upper atmosphere – this morning they are mostly tracking out across the North Sea with only the occasional flight to Amsterdam coming near to Hexham. So, hello to the passengers aboard Delta Airlines DL264 Airbus A330 from Minneapolis which flew overhead earlier, bound for Amsterdam – have a good morning!

Lovely photo. I’ve been up too early for the dawn the last few weeks 😀
Many thanks. Much to be said for getting up early and extending the day – wish I could motivate myself to do the same.
I was bloody glad to sleep in today! not sure if I’ve asked you this before but is your header foto Inveraray?
I bet, much to be said for Saturday mornings. Yes, it is Inveraray in the evening light – there are six photos that randomly refresh – the others are Arisaig, Traigh and the sands at Morar. The sunsets at sea are the Baltic and off the Norwegian coast.
This is stunning…
Many thanks, much appreciated.
Such a beautiful shot of cool dawn light. I really must try and get up early enough to do some morning photography 🙂
Enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you’re still in the pink
The years go by, as quickly as a wink
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think
My gosh, what a view to wake up to, misty or not.
Sometimes we forget how lucky we are.
Love the image Robin! Magnificent!
Many thanks Robyn, glad you liked it.
