We walked up to Beaufront Hill Head again on Thursday and the change from the previous week was dramatic. The sun was hidden by a blanket of cloud and the barley had been harvested – it felt like the year was on the turn – one shot, more ways:
(Apologies to Tina Schell who had asked to see colour versions of the previous post – I tried but they lacked any drama – so here are some even gloomier versions :-))
Looks like a nice field for crop circles.
Yup, courtesy of some alien in a huge Massey Ferguson 🙂
Wow, the has turned indeed. I caught some shots of wheat fields on Monday, but half the fields had already been cut….so I know by now all the gold grass will be harvested and the fields full of stubble ….such a change 🙂
There is also a change in the air down here today, distinctly autumnal. We are heading your way for a golf tour towards the end of September so you can expect snow around that time 🙂
Oh my, please postpone you’re trip, I’m not quite ready for snow just yet! But autumn is definitely knocking at the door….
I like the portrait orientation better of the two.
Me too but then I am not that keen on either – their only merit is by way of comparison with the week before – a bit depressing to think summer is on the decline 😦
Those tones…and the way light is just about to get through…amazing. Dramatic indeed but I like them a lot.
PS: A new photo challenge – you are welcome to participate! http://esengasvoice.wordpress.com/2013/08/18/eses-weekly-shoot-quote-challenge/
Many thanks – I really like your the idea for your photo challenge – I must try to find the time to participate.
Crop circles? Did somebody say crop circles?? lol LOVE these landscapes in black & white….fabulous images!!!! 🙂
Thanks Madelaine – the spirit of good ol’ Reg Presley just passed by 🙂 http://tinyurl.com/33o2b7w
Thanks for that…..I loved The Troggs by the way!
There is definitely something going on. They’re also found in the US although the debunkers are fond of saying they’re hoaxed.
